Not only did I get a picture of this abandoned barn but a little kitten adopted me while I was waiting for the school bus. The little fluff ball was sleeping in a snowdrift near the road...I thought it was a dead animal at first but then it moved a little so I called to it and it came running to me. Big mistake, I couldn't get it to leave me alone and the school bus was coming so I took it with me to the car and waited for my grand kids. Of course they fell in love with it so we took it home and waited for their mom to give them the verdict on whether they could take it home with them! I was more than a little relieved when she said they could keep it! And they all lived happily ever after...at least I hope so after their dad finds out! :)
Lol! I thought for sure you were going home with the kitty. I am glad it has a good home. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of him/her. Oh....and I love the barn. Beautiful color and composition!
This is beautiful. I am always drawn to old barns. I wonder if that's because I grew up on a farm and spent hours in our barn or if it's because my last name used to be Barnes?
@dejongdd There's just something about the old barns that seems to appeal to a lot of people...they have so much character not to mention they are increasingly becoming a thing of the past. I can't tell you how many barns I've photographed over the past few years that are no longer standing...either they collapsed or were torn down by the owners.
You have the perfect maiden name for an Iowan!! :0)
