I was a little disappointed after all the hype and it wasn't even blue at all. I was expecting something really unusual but to me it looked like any other moon. I should have done more googling on how to shoot the moon, I ended up with no detail at all. Some moon shots you can see craters and every little detail.
Beautiful capture. I see lots of detail in this image. I took several shots of it last night and then got up this morning and fired off a few more before it set. I settled on one that was taken in the blue hour this morning.
@delboy207 Thank you! Still 500mm on the mirrorless but I have to use the ftz ii adapter with it. I love that lens but have been using the new mirrorless 400mm 4.5 with 1.4 teleconverter more lately. Thought Id sell the 500 but I haven't been able to part with it yet! :)
I think its a spectacular shot! Blue or not, it's such a beautiful image. I don't quite know the full blurb about this blue moon either - must look it up. I just know the saying ‘once in a blue moon’ but never really bothered to find out what that meant. It think it's time!
