Hello! I reached day 50 of my project today (25 Oct 2011) - time to add a bit of info here. A friend of mine invited me onto 365 and, as they say, I never looked back since!

I live in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North East of the UK. The coast and countryside around here are simply stunning and inspire a lot of my shots. This has been a wonderful journey so far - I have started exploring areas just off my usual route to/from work, something I would've rarely done otherwise.

I have always enjoyed taking photographs and learnt a lot of the technical side especially from my Dad, a brilliant amateur photographer. Since going digital a few years ago I have been using a small compact camera. I kept missing the choice of lenses and options I used to have with my old SLR. My Dad finally encouraged me to buy a digital SLR which is also compatible with all of my old kit. It has been wonderful re-acquainting myself. Funnily enough, as much as I love having the option of a display screen that swivels and flips out, I have realised only now how much I missed having a proper viewfinder and feeling in control of my shots!

I never consistently practiced with a camera and tried different techniques. I am looking forward to learn from all you fellow 365ers! This is such a positive and encouraging site. I welcome suggestions and critique though!
