Detail of an internal dungeon corridor in the Monostori fortress. The corridor winds under the fortress for almost a kilometer. The fort was built between 1850 and 1871, but by the time it was completed it had become obsolete due to the development of firearms. It was never attacked, it only served as an ammunition depot.
