Galette des rois

At Daniel and Becky's raclette evening. You hide a little figure in it - it's a French Twelfth Night custom I think.

A very restless night with my knee playing up, feeling very itchy on my dry patches, and getting a severe case of cramp in my left leg while I was still half asleep.

Felt milder this morning so cycled to Pilates with a thin shell jacket and ended up totally freezing on the way back. A brunch of leftover chips and salmon. Then an afternoon of reading, Spanish and a teeny bit of melodeon playing - trying to do at least 5 mins a day.

Mid-afternoon had a mozzarella salad then at 5.30 got the train to London Fields for this raclette party. Had started raining as we'd left and once we'd arrived it fairly pissed down.

Nice roomy flat with a balcony they had and we enjoyed nibbles and far too much cheesy raclette. Hadn't known what to expect here - but it's a grill thing under which you heat little spades of cheese that you then drizzle over your plates of potato and (in our case, not eating the meat) asparagus and broccoli.

Had a rather interesting combination of drinks - 2 gins, 2 wines, and a rather good premium tequila. The galette des rois for pudding with some chocolate before getting the train home.

Very stuffed though - ate far far too much.
