Prince George Celebration Cream Tea by boxplayer

Prince George Celebration Cream Tea

Well the countdown begins - three weeks before we move if nothing goes amiss and we can exchange as planned end of next week.

So this weekend we pledged to start getting ready. However, still ended up having an enormous lie-in - feel a need to make the most of my favourite times in the flat - and lying in bed with breakfast looking out into the garden and watching the tits fly in and out of the cherry tree is one of them. Our new bedroom won't have such a view, facing out as it will onto the road.

Once I was up, Dave and I set to it with the various moving checklists I'd downloaded off the internet and compiled our own master version. I then ordered some packing boxes. And so far that's been about it today - so much for getting going - but then having said that, the list is key!

About 2.30-ish we got peckish and decided to head into the park and the gallery tea room for a sarnie or something. When we got there, I nudged Dave to alert him to the fact that they were doing a 'Prince George Celebration Cream Tea' with scones, cakes, sandwiches, tea and a glass of prosecco. Well that was it. We went from being die-hard anarchists to flag-waving Royalists in the space of a nanosecond. Oh OK maybe not quite anarchists.

A very nice man came and took a pic of us and our celebration cream tea. Three cheers for the prince and making a list ....

And now we're probably not going to eat very much ever again and will watch Back to the Future II.

A year ago today, those lovely 'lympics started.

@alisonp yes you're absolutely right, I'm sure I read somewhere he'd be something else for a while but obviously not. There's anarchists for you ...

He is Prince George isn't he? Anyway that looks good indeed. Just a picture on your camera or are you going to appear in the local rag as the neighbourhood royalists?

Now yes, if someone was offering me a celebration cream tea that looked like that I might find myself rather more inclined to flag-wave.

I liked the NHS bit of the opening ceremony...rather bittersweet in light of the fkers now selling it all off to their fatcat mates as fast they can. @fueast
