He's a type of Australian Shepherd called a Heeler.

Yep thought so - either a Blue Heeler or a Red Heeler but Sunny looks likes she has a bit of both. Great dogs. We have Australian Kelpies but they are not 100% percent as they both have a bit of blue Heeler (or cattle dog) in them. Both are wonderful breeds but I may be biased.
