Striking shot Brad. When I was in Santa Monica years ago I took a similar shot in a mausoleum on the grounds of San Gabriel Mission. These colored glass windows are truly beautiful. I'm always uncomfortable taking pictures in churches, so always appreciate seeing great shots like this to remind me of the beauty within.
sometimes we just need a place to rest our head ... thanks for the reminder.
and thanks for the comment on mine. That crazy dragonfly was dying to have its picture made. I had a 20mm on when I first saw it and took some as close as the lens would allow. Walked to the care--4-5 minutes--he's still there when I came back with the 105 macro. Sits. Stares. Flies into the lens. Goes back to his spot. I'm not complaining, but in afterthought there are probably a couple of things I could have done to get at least some different perspectives. As it was, only got a couple this close that were usable. Gotta be happy with that, though.
Beautiful image and a comforting passage. I suppose you could say we both came at the same subject through two different venues...
Was IMing my daighter, Ashley, when you mentioned the HOB Gospel Brunch. Asked her for details, as she and her husband teach for The International House of Blues Foundation, doing shows and workshops in schools. She said I'd love the show as well & she can get us tickets for our October visit in Chicago...thanks for the suggestion!
There are so many one-word descriptions you could put with this picture .... Peace, Joy, Strength, Wisdom, Savior, Love, Mighty, etc., etc. The word "Rest" says so much ....
