walking on my memories. by brennieb

walking on my memories.

We are related to George Heath The Moorland Poet .there is a an exhibition tomorrow 150 years since his death. He was from Gratton. this was our farm at Horton.,about a mile from where he was born.how we loved our bridge and Brook! i have even done a poem..which I may post later.always makes feel sad go past my childhood home. A very special place was Bond house farm.
Oh how lovely this is Brenda! Living on a farm is so magical when you are a child....everything revolves around the farm....seven days a week so it becomes the centre of your world. Beautiful countryside too, no wonder your heart is still there! Would love to read your poem too...illustrious ancestors too.

@brennieb I do know Brenda.....handed down through the family it gets in your bones! Any of your family carry on or where you all girls or doing other things. No Knowles farmers in this part of the world now, only in NZ isn’t that strange?

Before I was made redundant last year, I used to drive to school via Gratton and would sometimes take this lane as I liked the little bridge and ford!
