I've recently started Lindy Hop classes - which are a bit challenging but also a lot of fun!
This photo of the advance class warming up
(from Wikipedia...the Lindy Hop is an American dance that evolved in Harlem, New York City, in the 1920s and 1930s and originally evolved with the jazz music of that time. It was very popular during the Swing era of the late 1930s and early 1940s. Lindy was a fusion of many dances that preceded it or were popular during its development but is mainly based on jazz, tap, breakaway and Charleston. It is frequently described as a jazz dance and is a member of the swing dance family.)
Oh this wonderful photo brings back some good memories! I LOVED to dance, but by the time I met Ken, he wasn't a dancer, and that was about the end of it. However, (this really dates the time frame!) when I asked if he would take a dance class with me, he said he would do it if I "would take a class to learn how to use the computer"!!! Well, at least I learned how to use the computer! haha!
thanks people... BTW... i'm in the beginner class! and probably still will be in 6 months time!!!
