very nice! i always love the dark moody tones :) out of curiosity, were you aiming for the noise of a higher iso to provide texture? i probably would have shot using a tripod - or just putting the camera on a table or stack of books or something to give more freedom on dof and shutter speed... but then, this kind of still life is kind of beyond me, so i'm really not sure what sorts of settings i would have ended up with...

@northy Hi - thanks! Its not noise you see but grain! I added some! with the aim of kind of ageing it a bit - i didn't want blur - nor did i want crisp lines.. I thought about using a tripod.. but got lazy and to be honest - was only going to use this as a test run to see what i thought of the over all look! You'll also notice problems with the set up - e.g. the lavender has been cropped at the front which i don't really like and the bar code on the wine bottle is not so attractive!

I will play around with a tripod - as this spot i've discovered has really good natural light!

Nice, I'm ready to join you for a drink and a bite. Could we soak the pear in red wine first please?
