Ivy has migrated to my home from these plants that are creeping up the face of my neighbor's home. The ivy has filled the gardens underneath my red maple tree. I surrendered to it after unsuccessfully trying to grow different flowering plants there. This is a tenacious vine that has an unending zest for growth.
It's a real pain. We've got a little Japanese Maple in the garden that I love to bits and I have to cut back the ivy from it from time to time - don't want it strangling the tree.
It can be a real menace if it gets a hold on the walls and into the mortar too.
Still, it makes for a good b&w; I like the way the light's defining the form and texture of the brickwork here.
