De-icing

This is a picture I took from the plane..we had a long wait at the de-icing station. i thought this would be interesting to people that have never seen this done..

Wow never seen one of those before. I'd be more than a little scared taking off if our plane had just gotten de-iced lol what if it re-ices : p

What is a de-icing station? Are they thawing the plane?

awesome capture! the best place for de-icing is an airport that routinely gets A LOT of cold & snow! de-icing in MN never bothered me. d-icing in TN scares me!

We never have to worry about this in Australia so I hadn't even thought about the need for it. I just assumed that airports would be closed when planes iced up! Thanks for sharing Bruni.
