I've finanlly come across a cassette conversion system that lets me transfer some of my favorite German music (classics, hits, folks lyrics etc.) onto the computer in MP3 form. all I've to do now is burn them on discs and I'm ready to go. missed having no tape recorder in my car.
I've been meaning to get something like this for ages!! So much music on tape....Very time consuming I bet! But lots of memories along the way.

What a great idea. I have a lot of old cassettes stashed away and would love to get them transferred. So, a question: Can you provide some details on the unit? Brand? Cost? Where you got it? And, is the copying high speed dubbing or does it have to play at regular speed?

WAIT!!! NEVER MIND!!! I enlarged your pic and saw it was ION and googled, and now know all the answers.

@rayswrld. we bought a reasonable priced unit only around $70.00
go to www.ionaudio.com for more information. I find it easy to use as I can listen to my recordings a t the same time (background music when I'm on 365) so that explains the other question...now I see yur second comment...ha ha you got it already.

I still use my recordplayer and love the sound of it. Funny , but magazines of audio still use the gramophone record as the norm.

Good for you. My Son bought me a unit last year to convert my 45 rpms top the computer and onto discs.

I didn't know anything like this unit even existed....good to know! It's hard to keep up with all the everchanging technology! Love your picture of your progress! Can't live without my music either!

@bluemoon Thank you its nice to wake up to all your comments and the sky this morning (see my picture).

Oh wow. How nice is that. I have tapes, record albums and CDS. It's hard to keep up with technology.

I feel such a dinosaur, I really don't have much idea what you speak of, but I suppose it is a case of needs must and so far I am happy with most selections on the radio. I know what you mean when you are abroad though, non stop pop gets very tedious!!

@mole thank you for comment. yes I do love German music once in acwhile..by birth I'm German living in Canada since 1955. you see I dont\'t get a German radio program over here but have lots of casettes which I took of a German radio program when it was still broadcasting years and years ago. so now I can listen to them in the car especially on long trips.

That is a very nice tool, can you believe I never liked tapes, or records ( I do like records, but because they are nice visually) I always, even before they exist, waited for some kind of musical thing like mp3, I just did not know they would be called mp3 and that I would be playing them on a thing called Iphone. Isn't that crazy?
