As some of you know we have more than once seen a racoon in our yard during day hours. now early tonight we saw mom racoon with her 2 babies. I took the camera and went outside. by the time I got there mom was teaching them how to climb a tree. it was so funny to watch. at times it looked like all three were squeezed together in a fork up there, all you saw were three tails hanging down. when they turned around I got a good front shot of them . oh what cute little faces. never before have I seen baby racoons. I must have taken about 50 pictures and when I went in to upload them to my computer guess what...from a previous upload I left the SD card in the computer..boy was I upset and believe me when I say I'm in the dog house I'M IN THE DOG HOUSE. .my husband got really upset with me. he said: all you can think of is getting your pictures uploaded so you can get them up on 365 and don't even want to take the time to remove the card and format it. and unfortunately he is right. he also said that this opportunity presents itself only once and I screwed up. had to share this with you. sorry no baby racoon pictures.
Oh my, what a bummer, but don't be too hard on yourself, because we have all done that at least once, probably more. Well if all the moons align just right, maybe Momma and the babies will come back.
I can't tell you how many photos I've missed because I left the card in the computer. I'm so sorry you missed the baby raccoons...thanks for sharing your story and letting me know it's not just me who does it!
Lovely, logical husbands ... It's a good thing they never forget things. Lol ... I'm sorry you missed the pix, but it happens to all of us from time to time for one reason or another.
I've only done that once, hopefully it won't happen to you again. Got my fingers crossed that you see those little rascals again. Now if I can only remember to take the battery out of the charger & replace it in my camera before I head out the door....that seems to be my problem.
@molizard Thank you Molizard for that reminder I should really charge mine up and yes I do hope to the those cutties again as much as we don't like the damage they do to your property. we had some in our shed and my husbands snowmobile was torn apart..they dug a whole underneath the shed to have entry.
Aw....I had baby raccoons in my yard and they were there for a few months. I bet you see them again. I'm sorry you missed this opportunity, but you did get to see them and that's a big thing.
So sorry not to have a record of that amazing experience. Did you ever consider using a cable between your camera and computer when you upload instead of removing the card each time?
@allie912 Thank you for commenting..yes Allison I used a cable before but I must have broken the connection..the guy in the photo shop said they are very sensitive and as long as a SD-MS slot in my laptop I didn't need the cable. well I guess I have to be a little more carefull. but thanks for suggesting it.
my camera wont let me take photos without the card..
mind you I have been out, and not close to home and not have the card, this 4th july I left the card at home... but used my friends one instead... lol
.. you may get another chance,... if the family stays close....
Oh, yes, all of us have similar stories...do you happen to recall lat December when I was whining b/c I had deleted my ENTIRE iphoto library! I think that is a lot worse than losing 50 raccoon pictures....I really beat myself up BIG TIME over that...I don't have a husband but if I did I probably would have pummeled him if he had made some smart-alec remark as I was feeling bad enough on my own! lol
