We are so glad that we got back in time from our vacation to be with and support our granddaughter in her second competition. she did very well and we're so proud of her. the judging unfortunately wasn't fair as they favorved their home team. but what is important is that we made our Shayelynne understand that bringing home a ribbon is not as important as knowing that she did amazingly well and that we're so proud of her achievements.
Good for her- she looks lovely atop the horse! Nice technique and a great shot of her! So sorry the judging wasn't unbiased. It's really disappointing when any youth competition is marred by that. Tell her your 365 friends are proud of her sportsmanship!
Way to go! She's so lucky to be able to compete in such competitions. I'm terrified of being on a horse - as I'm scared stiff of heights. And tell her it's not if she wins or loses, it how she's plays the game... and she does look good. The judges don't know a good rider when they see one.
Great action shot! It's so frustrating when the judging isn't fair, but at the same time, it was an important life lesson... as we all know unfortunately, life often isn't fair.
@mozette@olivetreeann Thank you for your kind words..I will let her see this picture and read the comments. she is a very lucky girl and very devoted. she spends all her free time incl. weekends at the barn looking after the horses, cleaning the stables etc to help pay for the riding lessons and her babysitting money goes towards buying equipment or I should rather say riding gear. she is the daughter of a single mom who will do anything to make her daughter's dream come true. we are proud of both of them.
What a gorgeous picture here, Bruni. How proud you must be to have such a lovely and talented grand-daughter. You captured this perfectly and great pof and color.

Good lessons to learn! She and the horse seem to show such contained energy...getting ready to jump. You can feel the tension. in a good way. She also could revel in how great it is to be able to ride. :0) I always wanted to when I was young, but did not get to. That alone is so great. Thanks for sharing!
very true...great shot...it is an important life lesson, that is for sure...but good for her for going out and doing well...and i hope that she is not too discouraged... :)
@robinwarner@maggie2@espyetta@karenann@melissapike@mozette oh Yes Shayle is right we have better pictures than this one. ..this collage was from her first tournament and this horse is now her own as her mom bought it for her..she couldn't ride it though as Gorgia (her horse) is pregnant and also had something wrong with one leg which is apprearently healing well.
@nikkers Thank you for the comment.our graddaughter said after she read of the comments her pictures received that we actually have beter pictures of hers so I'll add a collage I made 3 months ago from her first competition. http://365project.org/bruni/365/2011-07-17
