Critique please. some of these droplets looked like a diamond. I tried many settings. unfortunately, I don't have a macro lens. so what do you think I should or could've done for the droplets the be more clear?
All nice shots and great collage, Bruni. I'm sure you have manual setting on your camera that will allow you to do macro. Check your manual or search online. To get better drops, get as close as you can and make sure that the part of the plant with the water drop is focused. And then if you want bigger drop, you can crop the photo. BUT you've done a fantastic job here with this collage :)
Yeah, I'm not sure what kind of setting you have access to but as Bev stated, if you google your camera and look into a variety of shots, you can find some interesting information.
A nice idea and a lovely variety of plants and water drops! My previous camera had a poor macro, so I used to set the image size as high as it would go, and the image quality to fine, and then take the shot without getting too close, but making sure the focus was good. I could then crop the image to give the close-up effect that I was looking for.
I know I used to struggle with macros on my camera. It seemed that it did not want to focus on things close-up. But a very kind 365 pointed out the little button with the flower on it and told me that meant macro! I don't see what kind of camera you use on your info here (probably because when you put all these photos in a collage it gets "erased" somehow.) but it must have a macro setting so see what you can find out from you manual.
@olivetreeann Yes, Ann your right, my little Canon P/S camera has a macro setting and yes in a collage the info. is lost. I'll have to try again the macro again on something else to see how good a picture it takes and then look for some droplets. thank you for your comment, Ann.
Looking at it large, your two lower corners are definitely in focus. They are nice and clear. The upper right looks like it also may be in focus too. But the remaining two are not. I know with my Canon p & s there is a "sweet spot" that will end up with a picture like your lower two corners. For other shots, if the camera is easily confused because there are too many things to focus on, and those things are at a different distances from the lens, I have to keep trying until it does focus, or give up! haha
