Remscheider Railroad Bridge by bruni

Remscheider Railroad Bridge

I posted a picture of this bridge in 2010 when the trains were still in service. the bridge was built in 1894 and finished in 1897. it is 500 meter long, 107 meter above street level, the weight is 5000 metric tons. It is now being restored to full capacity by the World Heritage Foundation UNESCO.
btw. Hans, as a little guy of maybe 12 with his friends climbed this bridge and walked on the rails. when I see how high it is I can hardly believe none of them never got hurt.
Awesome shot

Lovely shot of a very imposing structure. It must have been an incredible sight seeing a train cross it!

Wow. Lovely shot, Bruni! So glad it's being restored. It's nice when they restore things from our past. I couldn't climb that! Great job catching all the detail.

Amazing that Hans and his friends climbed up there! I'm glad that the bridge is being restored--an amazing structure. Your photo gives a good sense of the size of it. Thanks for all your comments on my pictures, Bruni. I appreciate it!
