Need I translate. I think the picture speaks for itself.
Oh well....Freiwillig means to do something without being told. why..wegen uns mean on account of us.
I was thinking the wegen uns meant little ones- but the actual translation is even more endearing! How could you not slow down with such a sweet request? It's good shot of life in Germany!
@olivetreeann You know Ann, we have seen so many signs on the highways which looked homemade (was surprised that they were allowed) which reminded you to please slow down or don't text while driving, be careful we won't you to get home safe, and many more. I first started taking pictures of them but soon gave up. I must say that the people in Germany, I don't know about the rest of Europe, were very courteous drivers. we or I should say Hans drove a total 4400 km on our outings and we never saw an accident or a police car any of the highways or city driving. the no speed limit boggled my mind. some people drove way over 250 km..it felt like a jet plane passed by you. when there was a speed limit depending on the stretch of road they were advertised overhead. like 100 km and when it changed to 120 on most highways, some to 130 again an overhead sign. and when you saw a line through the 120 or 130 km sign meant no more speed limit.
good thing I was not behind the wheel or else.
Wow, it is so different over there and glad that people abide by the signs and sounds like they know what they are doing and not out doing stupid things like they do here.
Great shot. I don't think translation needed but I read yours. To me the pic says "Drive With Caution, Children playing ahead". Love the different ways countries vary in their signs.
