Odd place for a traffic sign

On our outing today we traveled some country roads and that's where I saw this traffic sign way behind a ditch in the grasses away from the road.

What`s happen if you don`t see it and you are catch by a police men ?

@pyrrhula I thought it might an old sign someone dragged it in ther..it really was quite a bit in, I hardly noticed it and my car was stopped on the shoulder of the road..I'll go back there sometime soon and have a closer look.

@titam Menarose, thank you for your comment. it needs a lot of cleaning as this picture is zoomed in 5 X. it's way out there and I'm not 100% sure if it was meant for a speed limit sign for this road. will go back there and check it out.
