On my last photo shoot when driving along the lake I saw this " day " fish hut. the ice is still safe and people can drive out there with a snowmobile and pull a fish hut onto the ice for a day of fishing. huts that placed on the ice for the duration of the ice fishing season had to be removed on or before the dead line, which was March the 15th.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!! ,bruni ,I can't believe my eyes, that is terrible in how frozen it is out there. Now I don't feel so bad and I will stop complaining you poor thing. It is a beautiful shot and enjoyed seeing that thanks! It is raining so much here it melted all the snow that I can see my hyacinths and tulips coming up finally.I hope it starts melting soon .Do you usually get this much snow and ice that lasts untill April??When does your spring and summer begin?
@demelo Ann that is a good questions. we always say, we have very little Spring and when it finally arrives it goes soon after into summer.
we had a lot more snow this year because it snowed almost every day. usually the beginning of March is when the last snow disappears (not this year), but then don't forget it started snowing a month earlier than usual. most the time we hope for snow around Christmas, this year in started snowing already end of November. I hope I can see the first crocuses or snowdrops real soon now.
@digitalrn Rick, they have heaters to keep it warm and I'm sure booze to keep you warm too. I just looked inside one once and couldn't step in, that huge whole in the ice would scare me to death.

Ana. when you see hundreds of fish huts along the lake it's really something to see. my husband used to go ice fishing and liked me to tag along, but I wasn't too keen on sitting in a hut all dressed in heavy snowmobile clothing waiting for a nibble on my line. I find it boring, so I took the snowmobile and took off.
