I like to enter this picture into the this weeks theme. what you see here are some plugs which were filled with a few kale seeds. once they started sprouting, they get culled, leaving only one healthy looking sprout. we keep the container in doors in a sunny window. at night it stays underneath an overhead light. now that the days are getting warmer, we put the box outside for them to get some sunshine. once the weather allows, they get transplanted into the garden. from late summer past early frost we enjoy fresh kale. I've a few awesome recipes. they say, after kale receives it's first frost, it tastes the best.
Nice shot, Bruni! This is definitely a sign that Spring and Summer are on their way!! Woohoo!! I love the lighting and shadows. I can't wait to see what it looks like all grown up! Well done :)
would not have guessed that is Kale! Wow. I am impressed you grow it yourself and know so much about it. I had not even eaten kale until about 5 years ago.
@espyetta MaryBeth here is my reply to Carol. "Carol, the credit goes to Hans. I just do the preparations and the cooking (of course all the cleaning up afterwards).
You and Hans have green thumbs! What recipe do you like best with kale? My friend loves the stuff but her recipe does not appeal to me and the lady I buy my fresh vegetables from in the summer tells me she can't stand it! haha- not the best way to promote what you've grown in your garden to sell!
@olivetreeann My favorite one is kale in with small smoked cocktail sausages I cut into 3 so make them spoon size. I add spaghetti sauce and a can of white and red kidney beans. spices like salt, pepper, garlic. easy to make and so tasteful.
Great focus and beautiful lighting in this so nice pic.
