We took a quick trip into Newmarket to Lowes to get an idea of what we could replace the kitchen floor tiles with. we decided on the warm look of wood. in this case the Laminated kind and while we were passing the carpet section, we thought a new carpet in the one bedrooms would be nice. in the other bedroom the carpet had already been replaced.
@cimes1 Carole, we started with real wood in the kitchen. big mistake. it looks wonderful, but you see every dent in it if you by mistake drop something. for our dining room and adjacent area where Hans and I have our desks, we took the carpet out and replaced it with laminated flooring, so easy to keep clean. so when our tenant, who lived 9 years in our apartment downstairs, moved out, we started renovating. Hans already put some of the laminate down just to see what it would look like and I think it will look great.
@olivetreeann I wish. this is just the lower part which we made into an in-law apartment. we still have the whole upstairs and that area is way too big now for just 2 people.
This reminds me we have planned to do this this year with our spare bedroom. Need to hire someone as I can`t do it myself anymore. Well first gives it a start , that`s most time the worse.
It's always a tough choice when remodeling. It looks like the apartment is going to look brand new when you're done. You need to do a room to room shot of it when it's finally completed! I'd love to see it.
