Starling (the thief) by bruni

Starling (the thief)

As pretty as the starlings looks, they're a pest around here. they steal the strings and twigs the sparrows gather to build a nest by pulling it out
of the opening of the birdhouse. how they get in that small opening is beyond me. the upper part of their body goes in and the rest of it sticks out. we try to chase them away, but they come right back. I'll try to catch one in action next time.
They not only steal the nesting material, sometimes they steal the whole nest by laying their eggs in them. The poor "host" birds end up with their babies who quickly take over the food and space. It's just my personal opinion- but I don't find them attractive at all! However, this is a good picture!

Great capture. Starlings are pests around here, too.

It's a beautiful bird, but I hate them for stealing my cherries in summer!
