Great shot of this canary melon, Bruni. I have never heard of this before. How does it taste? I will check out your link to it. Great yellow color. FAV
@darsphotos thanks for the fav. the first time I saw one, I bough it. it was the last one at Walmart's. it was really ripe and so juicy. you could spoon out the juice once you removed the seeds.. the flesh was soft and tangy, but also sweet tasting. no comparison to the usual melons and not a bit like a cantaloupe (which I don't like). this time I bought one and I think it wasn't ripe enough. so I googled it and found out you should check the stem area and make sure it feels soft to the touch. well mine didn't. we already cut it open. don't know if it will ripen further in the fridge or if I should cover it up and leave it on the counter. try one if you see them. they're so good. no other store seems to have them. I would try Walmart if you have one where you are.
You are welcome, Bruni. I smell the ends of melons and try to stay in the season as well as that is when fruits are the best. I love a good watermelon and their season was short this year. I think because of our drought. I will check and see. Always open for something new to try. We have a lot of Walmart stores but my husband does not like to buy food there and I have questioned it as well. We buy canned or boxed but nothing fresh. Good to know that it is ok overall. Thank you for letting me know. I find that once cut usually not worth keeping. You may prove me wrong. Let me know how it goes.
