Squirrel happy finds leftover Christmas cake

I put 3 slices of Christmas cake on the railing a few days ago and this morning, one of the squirrels came up to the deck and carried one by one all 3 slices away. he was so quick about it, that I can't imagine where he buried them so fast. hope he at least feast on one of them.
as you can see, out snow is slowly melting away with the slightly warmer weather....until the next snowfall.

That's a big slice of cake. I hope he eats it and doesn't bury it. It might be disintegrated before he digs it up.

You spoil them. Are n`t almonds and hazelnuts not good enough for them? ( Kidding) Great cute find and shot.

Must be fun sitting in the warmth of your house looking out the window at changing scenes! What a waste of Christmas cake though - you could have heated it up and smothered it in delicious vanilla ice-cream!

@maggiemae The fruit cake was store bought and nothing to write home about. Hans ate most of it. I didn't like it. once we started baking, it was never touched again and I didn't want to throw it out. I cut up the rest and left it on the railing for the birds to pick on, but once a squirrel found it, it just disappeared.
