You see what happened on one tomato plant. it was planted in the worst soil, but it grew underneath a bird feeder and the bird droppings ( a natural fertilizer ) made the tomato plant grow like crazy. it was about as high as 6 ft and very wide.
The tomato plant became so heavy that it started leaning into our burning bush (red leaves only in the fall).
Hans didn't like that idea and so he tied it all up. it was ok first but then it got heavier and heavier and one night it tipped over. we tried to straighten it out but to no avail.
The second picture in this collage shows what it looks like now and I hope some sun will get through all that green and ripen some of the many tomatoes. ony time will tell.
Great capture and explaining you grow of tomato`s.
Tomato`s has to be `` Dief -ed`` The side grow`s has to be removed as they become to big for the plant and the leaves makes to much shadows.
Awesome! I put out good soil, fertilized mine, tried organic style pest repellents, did everything and only got a few tomatoes. There was nothing that would stop one kind of bug except something I did not want to use because of bees and butterflies. I would make some fried green tomatoes out of a few of those.
