Beautiful butterfly by bruni

Beautiful butterfly

I don't know the name of this butterfly, but it looks pretty. wonder how long it was lying on the ground. a bird could've gotten and dropped it. we had strong winds as well. maybe someone stepped on it. who knows. really sad, as we don't have that many butterflies in the first place anymore.
Lovely but sad.

Oh no! Very upsetting to see that. Poor butterfly! Nicely shot with tenderness, Bruni!

A lovely detailed close-up despite it being rather battered.

Oh, dear... it seems to have been a bad day for butterflies... I also posted an injured one

Indeed... So sad! I thing it an Old World swallowtail. They are huge and very graceful. A few years ago I had a few in my garden... And it's impressive to see them fly.
