Oh come on now it isn't that scary 1

Halloween at the mall. we hardly see any decorations this year. trick or treating hasn't been cancelled in our area.
The malls here are not doing the trick or treats for the kids

You're lucky to see any decorations. But folks are still decorating their yards - even though trick or treating isn't done so much anymore.

Good that a little bit of normal continues.

I'm not sure what's going on around here. I haven't seen the usual "Trunk or Treat" events where folks give goodies out of their car and I don't know any parents who are planning to walk around the neighborhood with their children. I wonder if I should buy a bag of candy just in case? Good catch!

So sorry. The world seems a scary place of it`s own now.

@olivetreeann Ann I never heard of "trunk or Treat"events. here the kids come to the door for trick or treat. this year Hans will sit on a stair to our deck which faces the road, a table will be set up at the beginning of our driveway and the kids may pick a treat ( a plastic bag with different kind of treats) he'll supervise it by say hi to them and telling the kids only one bag per person. let's see how that works out. our entrance to our house is on the side and is 45 ft deep plus another 15 ft to the end of the house. so everyone walks up the 6 steps to the deck and knocks on the sliding door.

You are right doesn't look to scary. I did put up a couple of Halloween decorations, but took them down, as we are not treating this year. I didn't want to confuse the kids as to what we are doing.

@bruni When I was growing up in the state of New Jersey we did the trick or treating just like they do in your neighborhood. I had never heard of Trunk or Treat until we came here. Some of the neighborhoods here are not safe for children to walk along the road so they will choose a place like the school parking lot, have everyone come and decorate their cars and hand out candy from the back of the car. The children walk from car to car just like they would through a neighborhood- but there's no danger of anyone not seeing them and running them over. Every now and then I still get someone coming to the door- usually in the late afternoon before dark and oftentimes a young child with their parent who would probably be in bed when the official trick or treating starts. But this year, who knows? I guess I should have one bag handy just in case. I hope Hans' plan works- I think it will.
