Ice ring in the winter...

and an open pond in the rest of the year.
this is in the Newmarket park we lately choose for our walk.
if you take a closer look, you can still see the different ice rings. I believe there were four.

It is similar here. Although there is no ice left in the cities, there is still a lot of winter in the forests.

Fascinating to see so many patterns on the ice, the clouds look very threatening, the dry grass speaks volumes and the village in the distance puts size into perspective
