There are more shots of it here: http://365project.org/tags/pitstone

@quietpurplehaze - Thanks Hazel, they were working on it today and had the doors open. It was the first time I had seen the inside.

@lynnb - It dates back to the 1700's and it such a beautiful place. I know Alison Bailey likes it to.

I do indeed. And I'm deeply envious that you got to see inside. I was there shortly before 4 this afternoon (trying out a recently acquired lens, not for posting just this once :-D ) and the workmen had gone home by then and left a 6ft, mesh wire fence all around it. Really must go get a look-see inside in open season next year.

Very cool angle on this!

Fantastic ancient central timber, and lucky you to see the workings.

@dulciknit - I was there about 2pm. The builder Bokes were painting inside and I took this through the door.

@tishpics - It was interesting, I may have to go back tomorrow.

@gphelps5 Good job I wasn't there a couple of hours earlier then - there might have been a bit of elbowing going on! ;-)
Thanks for your comment on the baubles piccy, btw, fun and very kind.

It is a great place and I was privileged to have a sneak peak inside. The old timber did make it look a little unsafe though?
