This is the sixth shot of this path and not such a pretty sight as the mist was rolling in and because the leaves were falling, the Industrial Estate is a little more visible in on the far side of the field.
Maybe I should have called this 'Not-So-Straight Footpath' today, but it was nice to see all the newly ploughed rocks beginning to show themselves.
Am getting to feel quite fond of this footpath Bulldog - no-one round here has been bold enough to tramp the path back into the ploughed land but its good that it has been done here - the path near us is over undulating land and you can't see where you are aiming at and that may be why we are all waiting for the farmer to mark it out again for us (which he always does) - either that or the thought of those boots with a ton of clay on them!
It is great that this path 'lives' all year round (apart from straight after plowing). I don't think it is widely used as it goes from the center of four fields, to the local industrial estate? Nice.
Great Idea for the Calender Fanny, I may have to try that next year?
Thank you all for taking the time to look at and comment on my photos. I don't know how you would go about aging a path Jo, maybe I could cut one of the rocks in half and count the rings?
I have just had a look on http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html and in 1994 the path diagonally across the field, so interestingly, this must have been moved after this time.
If you look at one version of the current OS map, the path is bent http://tinyurl.com/bulldogs-path - but if you then zoom in, it is straight.
So they must have made it straight quite recently?
