Luckily, my niece visited me today, so I had a good excuse to make Daisy Chains..
Go on ladies, how many of you could make these, my niece was making them quicker than I could pick them!
Wow those are bigger daisies than what I used to use. Lovely summery shot. As for if I could make them anymore yeah I reckon so, just a shame I don't see many.
@grannysue: I am sure you could still make them Linda @coolgirlsar: There are indeed huge Sarah, I have a fields near me that is covered in these giants. @lindadedman: She was too busy makeing the chain, she made me pick them. @clmiller: Thank you, Caren. @kathleenn: Watching my niece, they are dead easy to do (I couldn't no it though).
I love the concentration in this shot. I used to make them with the smaller version - I can still do it but its tricky and you have to choose fat stalks and have a finger nail with which to make the slit. I don't think it will ever die out!
Thanks for taking the trouble to look up my purple flower. I have since found it in my ancient Observer's book of wild flowers under Goat's- beard, but only the yellow variety is listed. It's also listed in my 'Alpine flowers of Britain and Europe' under the 'Daisy family' heading. (My husband is keen for me to dig one up as it is in a meadow which is usually kept cut short, so we may not see it again. Hmmm - I'm not sure!)
I could never do them (no finger nails) and although my niece was brilliant at it, should could not finish the ring off and I was unable to work that bit out... Is there an easy way to join the two ends?
Oh, and no worries about the research on your flower, it intrigued me and I have this morning purchased some seeds from the Garden Centre.
I will post some pics (once they have grown). @busylady
