Aug 15: Decay in Hemel

So after the exciting news that Hemel Hempstead (the town I work in), was named the "UK's ugliest town", I thought I would share this photo of the 'Water Gardens'.
Such a lovely image of decaying lawns, rubbish bins and stagnant water...

At least the ducks still have fun! ;)

On thumbnail I thought it was a puddle, but reading this location is called "Water gardens" the ugliest town deserves its title

The ducks don't seem to mind. However, I know what you mean. I love to photograph Liberty Park, which seems to be in much better shape than this water garden. However, there are ugly rubbish bins by the scenic parts of the park. It is quite challenging to take good shots with them in the way.

That really does look nasty. I heard that High Wycombe was in the running too, but I think it looks a lot better than it did. There are some bits of Hemel that look ok!
