I spent the day breathing a 'Fresh' lease of life into this old AEI lathe motor. It was a working motor so it really only needed a good clean and oil, the main job was to replace the mains cable which as you can see from the bottom of this shot, was a little frayed.
I am not sure of the actual age of this motor but it was manufactured in Sheffield (UK) by AEI
(Associated Electrical Industries) prior to their takeover by GEC (General Electric Company) in 1967.
