Jan 10: Fresh by bulldog

Jan 10: Fresh

I spent the day breathing a 'Fresh' lease of life into this old AEI lathe motor. It was a working motor so it really only needed a good clean and oil, the main job was to replace the mains cable which as you can see from the bottom of this shot, was a little frayed.

I am not sure of the actual age of this motor but it was manufactured in Sheffield (UK) by AEI
(Associated Electrical Industries) prior to their takeover by GEC (General Electric Company) in 1967.
Makes a good shot - lots of textures!

You sound so much like my husband, ha ha. I have just asked him if he has got one of these and of course, he has. It must be a bloke thing.

It did need a fresh cable urgently and now I hope it is working well for you.
