The changing face of towns

Not the best weather for a walk today, or for taking photos... but these contrasting buildging caught my eye.
The little hairdressers in the front is what used to be the High Street, before the main road was diverted and this road became a dead-end.
The larger six story office block behind now overshadows it and it made me wonder if any of the hundreds of people who work there, even know the hairdressers exists?
