We had a trip to Wear in Hertfordshire today to meet up with my family for lunch. As we got there I walked down to the river to assess if it was 'Swimable' and then as I retuned to the high street, I noticed this chap. "The Maltmaker is the result of a £30,000 project to commemorate the malting industry in and around Ware. The 7 1/2 foot bronze statue of a malting worker with his cat was sculpted by Jill Tweed. It was unveiled in November 1999 by Huge Page Croft, a founder of the Moray Firth Malting Company."
Funny enough, as I was looking for the history of this statue, Google found this shot.
