Guess who we happened to bump into today? Why Charles and Camilla just happened to be visiting Sark! It was a very relaxed and informal visit with only perhaps 200 people gathered on the school playing field where the royal helicopter had landed. The main picture shows the ferry landing and the pathway is the narrow pathway over to Little Sark. Apparently when it was first built the children used to go across on their hands and knees to save being blown off! These days there are railings both sides. There are no cars on the island, bicycles and horse and cart are the main from of transport.
Lucky you! Sark is a place I would love to visit - it seems very similar to Tory Island off the NW coast of Ireland where I have been and which is also like stepping back in time.
