Hollyhock by busylady

Hollyhock

I've finally succeeded in growing a hollyhock. I'm sure most of you can't get rid of them but I've struggled to get one to grow. This one came up with the goods and even managed to attract a bee just at the right time too!
Clever you & I have always wanted hollyhocks in my garden, such a country flower!! Are they from a seed packet or do you buy the young plant Judith?

@happypat Well I have tried growing from seed - some of them pinched from gardens as I've passed, but this one was from a plant bought at a plant sale.

You've done better than me - mine seem to be a complete flop! Lovely capture especially with the bee as well - what a bonus!

ooh nice - mine succumbed to rust again - not much chance this year I suppose with all the damp. Never saw them when I lived in Lancashire but they do grow essentially as weeds on our road - just my particular one never really thrives.

Lovely shot and you have the bee as well, I have them in mostly pink and purple. You will never get rid of them now, lucky you.
