Christmas shoe-boxes by busylady

Christmas shoe-boxes

I've been checking shoe-boxes this evening. We check to make sure the contents are suitable for the age group marked on the box, and that they don't contain anything which would be offensive, such as war games, soldiers or knives. Some countries can't accept certain items of clothing and we aren't allowed to include any liquids in case of leakage, or chocolate as it might melt! The emphasis is on the boxes being fun to receive but they also contain practical items such as soap and toothpaste. This year the boxes are going to Belarus. There is more info available at this link if you have time. http://www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk/article/storyID/105

Same at our church. One little girl brought 11 boxes - it was her birthday recently and she asked everyone to give her things she could give away.
