Picnicking in the grounds of Tolethorpe Hall. During the summer these beautiful grounds are used to host a series of outdoor plays. There's always a selection of three to choose from and often it's Shakespeare. This year however we chose Dad's Army. Brilliantly done and very true to the original TV series. I looked back to see if I had posted a picture last year but couldn't find one. Could have been because the Hall was covered in scaffolding. This year they have a new roof. If you're in the area it's well worth going and they always have spare seats. This is not our picnic party but one nearby.
Three good things
outdoor plays and picnics
family and friends coming tomorrow - housework done
precious life (I visited a friend in Addenbrookes hospital yesterday)
I was fascinated by that roof line before I read that it was new...must have cost a pretty penny to do that but very beautiful!! Lovely place for a picnic!!
