Wonderful weather today for taking a boat out on the Great Ouse at Houghton. Did you see the programme last night about the industrial revolution, presented by the Hairy Bikers? They showed some heritage work which had been done to improve the mill's ability to produce flour. The original mill wheel used to be powerful enough to turn 10 millstones with water power alone. Nowadays they use electricity, a smaller mill wheel and can only turn one stone. The mill was fully operational today and our 5 year old granddaughter (fully recovered from her fall in the mud yesterday!) enjoyed climbing the steps to the top and following the 'rat trail'. The best bit for her though was the boat trip on the river - more pictures in my other albums. Thanks once again for your fantastic support in getting yesterday's pic onto the PP!
Nice water shot. My aunt and uncle from Teddington, England are leaving tomorrow night after two weeks here for wedding and Cape Cod vacation after. They liked this shot!!
A beautiful scene - lovely perspective, colours and sky. I would have cloned out the distraction of the "swimmer" but I know people hold different views on these things. Super photo.
