This is the allotment opposite mine. He's a real horder and collects scrap metal and by the looks of things anything else he can make use of. The idea of having an allotment is not having to spend money unless you have to so I guess he's got the right idea!
@phil_howcroft I agree, and you should have seen the photo I didn't post! Trouble was it was over-exposed and into the sun. Looked like a witch's lair! @taffy Well I suppose there's lots of things - wood for fences, compost bins, dividers between rows, planks for walking along to keep the soil from compressing, markers, plastic half pipes for growing peas, the list is endless.
