St Mary's Island

Continuing our tour of the North East we visited St. Mary's Island today, reached by a causeway accessible at low tide. A very beautiful spot near to Whitley Bay. Will have to catch up with comments later as we're out with friends tonight.

My old stomping grounds!! St.Mary's Island is an iconic scene.As a child,I used to watch the light shining through the fog,from my grandmother's home in North Shields.

I know this area quite well,as my uncle lived in Whitley Bay......always love a lighthouse shot.....lots of them along that coast!

this is lovely judith, the inclusion of the person gives the image scale. i love the colours and the sky and you've done well to retain details in the white lighthouse (it could easily have been blown out). I would love to see how this looks in mono too
