I was inspired by @anazad to post one of my still life pictures taken recently. I have joined the U3A camera club and we had a session on still life photography. There were two arrangements to have a go at. We had a short talk and then had a go at using different settings to see what what made the best effect. I felt that however I tried there was a part of this arrangement that was over-exposed, and I also felt that the arrangement of the items was a little too spread out.. However, I'd be interested to hear your comments. I forgot to say that I've been nursing a rotten cold and sore throat for a couple of days, hence the filler for today.
Lovely shot Judith, but yes I think it is a bit bitsy as well... I think it could do with out the peel.. or put the peel in the dish with the other manderrins... love the chinese lantens..
Wonderful composition, but I have to agree with Leslie. I think it might be too balanced. I work as a chef and when I decorate plates I always use odd numbers to keep things off balance a bit to add appeal to the plates, just my take on it. Great photo none the less :)
Hope you feel better soon. I too think it's too spread out. I'd like the peel to look more disorganised as a counter balance to the lovely placing of the other items. I love the brown background and the lustre on the wood. Fav
Hope the cold gets better soon
