Every year we have a day when the neighbours get together to switch on their Christmas lights. We all gather outside, drink warm mulled wine and put on the cheesy Christmas music. We have a countdown and a big cheer goes up when all the lights go on. It's a very festive start to Christmas and we have a good catch up with all the neighbours. Sadly I haven't managed to capture many of the lights but at least you can see all the happy faces.
I can see some beautiful lights in the corner! If they are all like this, it must turn your place into a wonderland! How nice to get together and do this! Soundl like your neighbours would even help put lights up for people!
Well you do look a happy bunch...I can see Paul.....have you a communal tree or do you just go to one house? So good when all the neighbours get on well....communities are wonderful, things!
@happypat Yes that's Peter with the flash glare on his glasses! There was no community tree - we just all put lights around the windows, walls and sometimes (in our case) the apex!
@busylady oh dear I called him Paul...too much window cleaner talk....Paul this & Paul that ..the name is on my mind! Sorry of course I know it's Peter.....sounds a lovely switch on!
That is a lovely tradition! It's so easy not to make time to catch up with folk at this time of year, with the dark evenings and so much busy stuff going on!
