Although we all look happy in this photo, we were actually meeting up for the funeral of one of Peter's school friends. We travelled to Maidstone yesterday and spent the morning together in the town. It's always good to catch up with friends but wish it had been a happier occasion. I'm not in this photo despite a passerby offering to take a photo of us all. Someone photobombed us with a silly grin on his face!
A lovely capture of a group of friends --as we grow older Judith our get together with family and friends are mottled with funerals !--but even so ,it is so nice to see our remaining friends !
I don't trust other people to take photos - they never seem to hold the camera really steady which is so important - particularly in a situation like this. You mightn't see these friends again for a while!
Funerals can be rather jolly occasions I find...depends on the age of the deceased I suppose & if they have had a good & happy life. Our funeral yesterday was quite a happy occasion too & it is good to meet up with others you haven't seen for ages! Sometimes it's the only occasions we get chance to see them! Peter looks very jolly!
It's a nice shot and we find that we catch up with friends at funerals these day. I went to a friend's funeral last week and she was nearly 58 much younger than me. However, it was a nice funeral and everyone spoke so highly of her and it was all true but I must admit it did make me think!
Sorry to hear about the occasion. One good thing that comes of these is that good memories are brought to the front and sometimes old acquaintances are made new.
@phil_howcroft It's when someone/something walks into your photo picture who/that you weren't expecting. In this case some guy had walked up behind our group and put on a stupid grin as if her were part of our group!! I didn't want to post a pic of him as I had no idea who he was!
@busylady hi judith, when i said i dont' get photobombing, i meant i don't get why someone wants to gatecrash somebody else's photo :) ...I did understand the term :)
thanks for the explanation though :)
