We had our first visit to the Hay festival on Sunday. It is an annual literature festival held in Hay-on-Wye in Wales and has been described by Bill Clinton as 'the Woodstock of the mind'. We booked four talks each and managed to hear some very interesting people. You may just be able to make out Terry Waite, Celia Imrie and Simon Schama. It was a fascinating day and I'd love to go again next year.
We went to the Hay Festival many moons ago...it was by mistake I have to add...on a whistle stop tour of Wales we did one year ! I would be much more appreciative of it these days!
@ivan Well no not really, but I do enjoy reading and belong to a book group. I just don't have a lot of spare time for reading - retirement is even busier than when I was at work!
