This memorial to the 25 year wall is the central site of German division in Berlin. I have included a figure so you can see the height of the wall. The curved top is to stop anyone being able to climb over or throw a line. Originally it was just bare concrete slabs and is only about 6 or 8 inches thick. It now displays much colourful and thought-provoking graffiti. A sombre reminder of the past. The sun was shining right down the length of the wall when we were there so it wasn't easy to get a shot from either side in the sun.
Very interesting to see this Judith....I remember of course the excitement on the night this wall came down. Must have been very moving to actually stand in front of it.
