Shaw's Corner by busylady

Shaw's Corner

George Bernard Shaw lived here from 1906 until he died in 1950. It was here that he received the Nobel prize and also an Oscar for his famous play 'Pygmalian, later to become better know as My Fair Lady. Our book group had a lovely lunch in the nearby village pub followed by a most interesting visit to the delightful home now owned by the National Trust
Great shot of a very nice place

@happypat Thanks for your comments Pat - it really does look better on black. I'm surprised as it's just an i-phone picture - I forgot my camera today!!!

Lovely view looking up the garden to the house. George Bernard Shaw must have loved this house very much to have lived there for so long.

@gooner46 It's not far from Welwyn garden city in Hertfordshire although out in the sticks and down some very narrow lanes

I've never visited this place despite it being reasonably near by.

@busylady Thanks, Judith. It looks a lovely spot. Have you been to T E Lawrence's small cottage near Wareham?
August 26th, 2017
@gooner46 No I haven't been there, although I have been to Wareham many years ago.
